At the last minute, a couple of weeks ago, we decided to go to New Orleans with some friends to watch BYU play in the "sweet sixteen" (I am going to say that like I care but really just wanted to go on a vaca...) Not true I do care and it was a really fun game even though they lost. It was okay though because it meant that Saturday we got to see the city instead of watch a basketball game. We letf on Wednesday night (not even three days after I took a week off for spring break. Pretty sure I am a horrible employee)and headed to Houston to break up the drive because Elaine was with us and she is 7 months pregnant (true BYU fan). Then Thursday we headed to New Orleans and went straight to the game.
Friday our husbands studied (boring) while we laid out at the pool for a few hours. Then we went on a CAJUN ADVENTURE
Complete with humans feeding Alligators hot dogs and marshmallows while said humans watch in ahh. And a snake in a tree.
After that WE (adam and I) and Ryan and Elain went on a Ghost Tour. Our other friends were to scared. Our tour guide was Bloddy Mary herself. It was really entertaining. She did Vodo and everything.
Saturday we drove through the GHETTO looking at the damage that that little storm (Hurricane Katrina) did to the city. It was really crazy/sad/disgusting. After that we Hung out in the french quarter all day eating tranditional Cajun food and soaking up some of that wholesome atmosphere.
For the most part I really like New Orleans. It was really pretty and fun. I am really glad I experienced it. And I am really glad that I gave my last two vacation days to that city (yes I have already taken ten days off and its only April. dont judge me)
some of the photo's were taken from Elaine's blog
What a fun trip! I'm glad you had a good time. We were reminiscing with Kayla and Tyler last night about our Disneyland trip. I'm so glad we did that. I am really craving a Dole whip right now.
