Motherhood and Mother's Day

I feel so blessed to be a mother! It is something I have always wanted. In 2 and 1/2 months motherhood has already shaped me into something I didn't know I was. It has pushed my emotions further than I knew possible and has helped me become a better person. Today has been a great day (even though our daddy had to work ALL DAY. Still isn't home!). I am so grateful this mother's day that I am finally a mother.

However, last year mother's day was not a great day. Mother's day was a hard day. So while you are celebrating the amazingness of motherhood, because it is amazing, try to remember and reach out to those women that are suffering today.
Also, I am so thankful for my momma. For better or worse the woman I am becoming. Sometimes it is scary how a like we are. Large plastic cups everywhere, diet coke addicts, unable to pronounce half the english language properly, can never turn down a lunch date, we even talk on the phone the same. I just hope I pick up some of those amazing qualities she has as well. Love, dedication to family, defender of all people, and a desire to see and experience the world. Thanks for being an amazing mom and if I am half the mom you were Allie is a lucky girl.
Thanks to all the other mother figures I have in my life as well. If we could take a piece of each of us we would be the perfect woman! I love you all.

  1. Happy Mother's Day Katie! It is the first Mother's Day for both of us. I love that little tongue sticking out in the fist picture - so precious!
